The Critton Hollow String Band Plays Tunes for our December Holiday Dance

Come Dance With Us!

Saturday December 3, at 6:30 p.m. for Potluck, Dance begins at 8.

Join us for our annual holiday party and contra dance with Ron Buchannan calling to the music of Critton Hollow String Band.

Ron Buchannan is a high energy caller from Pittsburgh known for his wonderful contras and lively and interesting squares. Critton Hollow has for over 40 years been one of West Virginia’s most popular string bands, featuring the fiddling of Joe Herrman, Sam Herrmann on hammered dulcimer and mandolin and Joe Fallon on guitar, bass and melodeon.

This promises to be a wonderful evening of entertainment… and while we will welcome new dancers into the fold, it also promises some delicious challenge to more experienced dancers.

We start the evening potluck hor d’oevres and and desserts at the break. We recommend people bring dishes that are simple to serve and eat to make it safer for all.

For everyone’s safety, we recommend our dancers are fully vaccinated, and that all wear masks on the dance floor and while getting food items. We will be setting up several widely spaced tables for eating… which you obviously can’t do with a mask on. We will be getting contact information to inform you of any breakout infections should they occur.
