Contra Dance.
Come and join us for a rollicking evening of fun as Andrea Nettleton guides us through a delightful program of dances to the music of Zachary Mills (fiddle) and Charlie Pilzer (piano, melodeon). The video below captures some of the band’s energy!
New dancers and rusty ones are encouraged to come at 7:30 for a review session to get instruction on the basics until the dance begins at 8pm. Dancers of all abilities are welcome, no partner is necessary.
Vaccinations are recommended and masking with KN95 or similar masks is encouraged but not required.
Location: War Memorial Building at the corner of German and King Street in Shepherdstown, West Virginia.
Admission: $15 nonmembers, $12 members, $5 dancing kids under 12. Beginner/refresher lesson at 7:30; potluck snacks at the break

Friday, May 10: Cape Breton Concert with Elke Baker (fiddle), Barry Shears (Scottish pipes), Wendy MacIsaac and Troy MacGillivray (fiddle, piano and step) at Shepherds Spring Retreat in Sharpsburg, Maryland, as part of the Upper Potomac Music Weekend. Concert in a small, but lovely setting is open to the public, but seating is limited. Tickets $25. Email upperpotomac@gmail.com for tickets.
